Michael SchmidtTo Live a Life
It is said that if you want to get something done. Ask a busy person. But busy people get tired. For those of us who are called upon to get something done, finding time to care for ourselves can be elusive. Often it is only after severe burnout or exhaustion that we notice the extent to which we have pushed ourselves beyond our limits.
We are surviving difficult times. The bonds of civility that shape our political and social systems are frayed. More of us feel insecure, anxious, and depressed. And for those of us who are busy, we can expect that more will be asked. So the question really is how can we thrive in difficult times? What does it mean to be of use? How can we cultivate the joys of living as we offer our busy selves to do good things How do we live a life? And how will we busy people care for each other as we do so?
